QUEEN OF CHICKEN NIGHT BUYS HOUSE

November 7, 2004

Jean Poquette Hansen who has lived in the De Pere area for a notable amount of time will be pulling up stakes and moving to the Greenleaf area where she has bought a house. The one time Oneida resident has lived in Green Bay, the Town of Scott, and De Pere and plans to add Greenleaf as a new location of the chicken night throne. Her plan is to take over the entire county one township at a time until the entire Brown County is a Chicken Night kingdom. Hansen mother of three is employed by Aurora Hospital and plans to make her home in the southern Brown County community. The house which is a "fixer upper" is now under construction with Trixie and Kevin Sobieck doing demolishment in preparation for some remodeling before Hansen takes occupancy in December. Trixie has been hauling junk from the house to the drop off station in Hobart on a daily basis and returning for more the next day. The Sobieck's have graciously volunteered their services to rebuild the home into a palace and have helped the Queen in the past to bring former residences up the the standards of a Queen. They are glad to help and say they realize their lowly peasant status with the Queen, but they hope that helping with the new palace may give the Queen a reason to look on them favorably and grant them higher status in the Chicken Night kingdom. The Queen was not affected by the recent election because as you already know royalty is in power for life.

With only 18 days until The Turkey Bowl pressure is mounting in the executive offices of the XPFL with plans underway to change the face of the game and make it more entertaining for fans as well as players. The meeting scheduled for next Sunday at Sobieck Hall will cover field preparation, team size, and a injury waiver agreement to be signed by every player. The public is allowed to attend the meeting however you will not be allowed to speak unless you are on the agenda. Requests to be on the agenda can be processed right up until just before the meeting. The meeting will be held at Sobieck Hall next to Poquette Field at 2PM. The Sobieck's will not be in attendance due to the remodeling at the palace, however snacks and treats for the meeting will be prepared by Trixie before her morning departure.

Saturday November 6th. was the evening selected for Ann Pickett and Dan Lockwood's shower at Ashwaubenon Lanes. Guests were invited to engage in bowling and a light supper was served in a room set aside for the evening get together. The evening was highlighted by an attempt to reproduce "The Newlywed Game" a game show which ran on network TV from 1966 until 1974. The event was hosted by the writer and 4 couples were quizzed on how much their spousal unit knew about them. Needless to say much hilarity ensued and everyone loved it. The program was put together by Annie's friend Sarah and what a wonderful job she did preparing questions for the panel. The best part of the show was when the wives had to guess what picture was theirs picking from the four pictures drawn by the husbands. Some of the pictures seemed as if they were not of this earth. A Prize basket was awarded to Bill and Jill the winners and the Newlywed Game went down in shower history as a winning event.

Last week the country voted for President and as you know by now George Bush won. It doesn't matter if you voted for Bush or Kerry or even if you didn't vote at all, but to the right is the map of counties throughout the United States and which counties were Bush and which went to Kerry. George Bush counties are the red ones. That's all the news that is news, see ya.

MARGARET VANLANEN HAS A NEW KNEE
With the surgery behind her Margaret returned to her rural Oneida home on Friday afternoon with a new plastic knee. Doctors who performed the knee surgery proclaimed the procedure successful and The pain she endured in her left knee for so many years is now gone and but while her leg is sore after the surgery she is looking forward to having the right knee done when the recuperation period is completed. Peg suffered knee problems for some time probably from damage resulting from volley ball and other sports she played in her younger days. At the time that this report was being written VanLanen was resting comfortably while husband Dan attended to her needs. While conducting the phone interview with Dan he stated that he also is a candidate for the same surgery sometime in the future. It seems that he has severe arthritis in one of his knees and the doctor told him that it's only a matter of time before  he experiences the same ordeal.

Last Saturday November 6th. Stephanie Prevost took a little excursion to Albertville Minnesota for a shopping trip along with friends Nicki and Wendy. It was a bus trip and one of those preplanned tours that that sets everything up for you and all you have to do is show up. As if the trip itself were not exciting enough Stephanie said they rode in luxury in a "Prevost Bus" named especially for the family living in the Prevost Mansion. Upon arrival to Albertville the group spent the day shopping in the mall where Stephanie was able to purchase a pair of shoes. Everyone thought that when Mary Poquette passed away that she was buried with her shoes but alas Stephanie had been seen wearing them later. Now she will be sporting a new stylish pair more suitable to her age bracket. Prevost also said that she purchased some miscellaneous clothes items that were to insignificant to mention. With a day of shopping in the group freshend up at their hotel and headed out for a night of entertainment at a local dinner theater where they were treated to a performance of "Ho Chop Suey" a presentation put on by locals. After the theater presentation, dancing and merriment. Later they retired to their rooms awakening Sunday morning to a hearty breakfast of eggs, pancakes, french toast, oatmeal, grapefruit, waffles, Cream of Wheat, ham hocks, bacon, sausages, coffee, and fresh squeezed orange juice. After breakfast the group piled on the bus and motored back to Green Bay arriving home in time for a quiet Sunday night dinner.

Once again the Turkey Bowl is just around the corner and the big meeting at Sobieck Hall will happen today at 2 PM with final arrangements to be decided at that time. As we mentioned before the public is invited but will not be allowed to speak unless you have been placed on the agenda. Snacks and treats will be provided by Trixie even though she does not have time to attend the meeting due to remodeling at the new abode of the Queen. This year you won't want to miss the pregame show at 1:30 PM.  A final note to Brittany from the scoreboard crew, please e-mail THE KAT AND MICK REPORT to get the details for the posters for the sponsors for this year. This year you will not only see the sponsors but you can also hear the commercials for them during breaks at the quarters. Don't forget to bring your own seating. That's all the news that is news, see ya.
