he first annual Pickett Family Reunion went largely unnoticed yesterday at a popular local gathering place known as "Pamperin Park". The reunion which drew nearly 70 people remained quiet and uneventful for the entire day as people sauntered in from the parking lot, had lunch and eventually slipped away without fanfare back to the comfort of their homes.

Some families have the usual differences among it's members coping with flaring tempers or other families who have a member or two who always drink too excess and embarrass themselves and make everyone uncomfortable. These moments could not be found at the Pickett reunion making the sleepy event unmemorable and ho hum. One could occasionally hear a voice murmuring on about how good or bad business, or their job is in this economy while others droned on about all the things their children are in, should be in, or could be in.

The food for the event consisted of grilled hot dogs, bratwurst, and hamburgers, potato salad, and a plethora of side dishes from pasta salad to baked beans. Desserts set aside on a separate table left no one for want, with all things taken into consideration there was plenty of food and no one went hungry.

Beverages were the responsibility of Tome Pickett who brought in just about every conceivable drink available. Coolers lined up outside the shelter were
available to reunion participants upon demand as those attending chose between 3 kinds of beer, 8 different kinds of soda, or bottled water. Ice was used to keep all the beverages cold while food items needing refrigeration were stored in the commercial refrigerator located inside the spacious shelter. Supplies of food and beverages were
inexhaustible for the most part and the party ran it's course and ended at around 9PM. Some of us stayed behind to pick up and clean up the shelter and everyone was gone by 9:45 PM.

T-RAT OUTING THIS SATURDAY
This Saturday will be the annual T-Rat outing at the Fox Cities Stadium with the game played on Time Warner Cable Field.
The first 1, 000 fans through the gate will receive a Chermake, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers umbrella. After the game will be a fireworks show courtesy of Fox 11 television. The Rattlers are in 6th place in the western division with the team winning
12 out of 29 games this year so far. There are 8 teams in the western division.

STILL TIME TO GET IN ON GOLF
Registrations will be taken up until the day before the Poquette Family Golf outing at the Royal Scott Gulf Course. The game will be played on the back nine this year and as was the case last year the event will be followed by dinner at the Prevost Mansion located on the back nine of the aforementioned golf course. This year guests are asked to register even if they are not golfing due to food shortages last year at the dinner. Wrist bands will be handed out to registered guests only. Those not sporting a wristband will be turned away from the buffet. That's all the news that is news, see ya.
