"I just think of the clown's mouth wide open when I'm hitting" replied Eileen "Trixie" Sobieck after being asked how she scored so highly in one of the early PGFO's. Of course it didn't hurt that Rick Prevost, a semi professional golfer was on her team and they were playing best ball. Sobieck, who was unable to grasp the concept of the scoring protocol of best ball thought she was one of the best female golfers in northeastern Wisconsin after seeing her score. Kevin quickly talked her out of quitting her job and going on the professional women's tour until she did some golfing on her own. She has never been out alone since that time yet.

The outing which will commence at 2 PM on August 22nd. at Mid Vallee as previously mentioned will again feature the game "best ball" which is a total score of all the players best balls added up. The team with the lowest score wins of course but no prize is given out and it's all about the fun of playing golf with family. There has been no consistent winner during the 6 year run of the event largely due to the inconsistent make up of the teams and irregular entry of most of the contestants. Last years win was awarded to "The Rainbow Putters" a team made up of Alex Pickett and his buddies, details about the event can be read here.

There will be once again an after party and it will again be graciously hosted by the Sobieck's at their back yard pool area. Food preparations will be handled by the Sobieck's and those wishing to bring a dish to pass will be wise to co-ordinate that with Trixie Sobieck. She can best be reached by her mobile phone or by a facebook message, but do not try to call her land line phone as it has been disconnected, and not because of non payment mind you but because they could never find the portable phone it was hooked up to. Kevin said the phone had been missing for months before they had the line disconnected.

The Newsletter does not have current pricing but in previous newsletters the course offered a game of 9 holes and a cart for $28.00. Even if it has gone up a little it's still a cheap way to spend a summer afternoon in the fresh air and sunshine. Hope to see you there and by the way the Katandmick team is not yet full, in fact it's only me as of now. Those wishing to bring a friend to golf with no longer have to get the person cleared by Jean Poquette-Seidl and can now use their own judgement in signing the person up.
